This bulletin covers a wide population of Polaris RZR and GENERAL ROVs across MY2020-2022 production.

The affected vehicles are made in two- and four-seat configurations. POLARIS is stamped on the front grille of all the vehicles. The model name is printed on the side of the chassis for all model years. The VIN is located on the vehicle's frame in the left rear wheel well.
### Recall history
- **October 27, 2021**: Polaris issued initial Stop Sale, Stop Ride order to dealers.
- **December 23, 2021**: Polaris announced voluntary recall in cooperation with CPSC (Recall Alert).
- **July 19, 2022**: Polaris expanded the affected vehicle population.
About **38,900 units** affected globally. Sold at Polaris dealers from July 2021 to October 2021 for between $18,600 and $28,900.
## Issue
The **steering wheel can separate** from the steering column during operation, resulting in a complete loss of steering control and a crash hazard.
Reported field incidents at time of expanded recall:
- 48 reports of broken or cracked steering wheel spokes
- 9 rollovers
- 5 injuries
## What to do
1. Verify the model year and VIN against Polaris's published affected list at https://www.polaris.com/en-us/off-road-recalls/.
2. **Stop using the ROV immediately.**
3. Contact a Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair, including installation of a new steering wheel.
4. **Do not attempt repairs yourself.**
5. Polaris is contacting registered owners directly.
## Hazard
Severity is rated **critical** because:
- 9 confirmed rollovers
- 5 confirmed injuries
- Loss of steering on an off-road vehicle in any operating environment is a high-severity defect mode
- Affected population exceeds 38,000 units
